The Intuitive Art of Inkedbychloe: My Process for Creating Art in the Moment

Even though I do not pre-design my art, there is a lot that goes into preparing for the sessions I will hold. For me, everything about my practice is deeply rooted in spirituality. That being said, the concept of spirituality I talk about has nothing to do with any man-made religious institutions. 

My right brain has always been active as long as I can remember. There is a lot happening in the ether for me all the time. When it comes to my creative process, most of it is done in the ether.

The moment when an inquiry is sent, I receive not just the text on the form but also the energy that comes from the one sending the inquiry. Just as musical notes can be combined in countless ways to create harmony or discord, energies possess an infinite array of subtle variations, not all of which align harmoniously. I use my discernment to indicate if there is disharmony in the encounter of multiple energies; as a result, I may choose to accept certain inquiries over other ones. That being said, if one would land on my website and send an inquiry, chances are that they are already aligned with all I am here to offer.

Upon receiving a deposit, a contract is formed, and I begin session preparations. To conduct a session, I must first cultivate a state of presence, purity, peace, and pristine focus. This requires releasing any ego-driven human tendencies such as judgment, control, manipulation, or bypass. To prepare for this state, I would need a meditative period that could last for hours, days, or even weeks. Authenticity is my lighthouse. Authenticity, for me, stems from the very essence of my soul, an essence that has journeyed through countless lives, not merely this one within this vessel. Imagine this process as the distillation of my soul; anything that is not of the highest level of presence is either left behind or transmuted. After this distillation process is complete, I am prepared to see another in my space, be it an entity, a concept, a human being, or a collective of some kind. 

On the day of the session, I arrive and prepare the space for my session of the day. At the beginning of the session, some time will be spent to talk about the intentions behind the project and any stories associated with such intention. As the client speaks, I will listen and align my energy to be on the same wavelength with the client’s true self so I can clairvoyantly see the image take form. Sometimes, I also experience clairgustance and clairaudience in different cases. In a protected space, I can see one’s true self coming through in different colours, tastes, shapes, and textures. This true self is the underlying essence throughout everything they are and do like the key of a song. 

This would be enough for me to sketch the general shape onto the skin as the base of the art that will unfold. As the session progresses, more details will take form on its own as I spend time with the client. In some cases that other entities are invited to the space to complete the creative process, they will come in and help with the images as well. In odd times, I have called forward grandmasters in the human history of art-making to assist with the production of an art piece. Over the years of my own education, I have made acquaintances with their energy and textures of expression. 

This entire creative process for me could be similar to a waltz or a singing duet. My and the client’s energy will take turns leading. As a result, a beautiful piece of artwork will be born. Due to this unique process, even myself cannot perfectly replicate an artwork. Much like a concert where the same music is played repeatedly, each audience member's experience will forever be uniquely distinct, etched into their memory. And in my case, that experience is etched into skin.

Everything to me is a dance. All the practices, sweats, and tears are for the calm readiness when a dance is in demand to unfold. All done in the moment.
