Welcome to Studio XI,
Where Art Unfolds in the Moment
Frequently asked questions
A session includes the time needed for consultation, stencil drawing, as well as the tattoo running time. All the time needed to create the art is included as part of the session. The consultation and stenciling/drawing time can generally take somewhere between 20-40 minutes. This process is important because it ensures that the design will perfectly fit to each unique body and reflect the client's intention properly. The session will be paused for any snack or washroom breaks (you won't be charged). It is possible that extra sessions might be needed for projects that require a more elaborate consultation and design process or for people who have low pain tolerance and cannot endure a longer session (for large projects).
Sure thing, I do offer separate consultation sessions for $150/h. In most cases, one hour would be plenty of time. The session will be held over a video call. During the session we can go in depth with your intention behind the tattoo, I will offer any information and suggestions that can assist you with deepening your connection with a potential tattoo project. Myself as well as my 28 years of artmaking experience will be available to help during the session.
Great question! Every tattoo artist has their own way of conditioning their services. For me, I am an artist first and foremost. Tattooing is one of the many mediums I work with. The value of my sessions is not only on the completion of the tattoo itself but the fact that I will be 100% present and connected with you in multiple dimensions throughout the entire time we are together. Sometimes, when needed, I will channel messages from ancestors, entities, loved ones to gain clarification upon desires, intentions, and whatever that wishes to take presence in the tattoo piece. There is no mental doze-off and trying to kill time. The moment when I see you for the session, I am devoted to you as your witness by syncing with your aura, intentions, moods, desires, etc. This way, I will be able to properly extract energies and crystalize intentions, embedding them into the tattoo piece you will walk away with. As soon as our session starts, my senses throughout all planes of existence have to be extremely sharp for the most flawless delivery of the tattoo piece while holding the strongest container I can.
This process is a mandatory process of any art work I make. Without this process, there is no art work. I hold this part of my creative process in a divine light where I do not tread lightly as an artist.
Due to the limited endurance and sustainability of this human vessel I am in, I can only hold one or two sessions per week to ensure the pristine quality of every session and their manifested artwork. Therefore, I hold every single minute of a session with the highest level of respect and integrity.
I am so grateful for your trust in me to create your artwork. When you work with me, it's not just the "me" that you see who is working with you; it is my twenty-eight years of technical training in drawing, painting, and mark making; it is my three plus decades of dying again and again, joined by all that came before, in my spiritual and artistic embodiment as human being; it is my entire life of evolution to be the one standing in front of your eyes right now. And THIS is who is serving you.
This is the reason why I call my session an "experience".
Because, for you, I am ALL IN.
PS - If you want to get to know my energy more and see if you would like to work with me, I share a lot on my blog here on this website, my IG @inkedbychloe, and I also have a meditative podcast called Studio Xi's Healing Library here: https://open.spotify.com/show/3kEqLyhhrTAobyPy1o0zh7?si=6ea57a8fc3eb4bc4
If you want to explore with me on a one-on-one basis about your tattoo concept before committing to working with me, I am also available for virtual consultation for CAD$150/h.
